Important Notes For Ai-1000*, 4000* & 5000*

Before upgrading to firmware 2.x it important to understand the implications of moving from 1.x . If you are running on firmware 1.5x or lower you must first upgrade to 1.6.x. When moving from 1.x to 2.x there are a number of critical changes which will require changes to the initiator.

The main change is to the naming convention of nodes and the removal of support for multiple LUN's/Volumes to a node. The previous naming convention of nodes was considered unfriendly. We have now implemented an IQN naming convention with the Volume name appearing in the middle of the node name. This allows users to easily identify LUN's/Volumes from the initiator.

Starting with 2.x with have implemented a new easier to use interface which allows for controlling and viewing multiple arrays.

Firmware Rev. 2.7.x is a Mandatory upgrade for all dual controller systems and advised for all other systems.
